Golden leaves, golden dog, even golden Dodge!

Wouldn't it have been great if Finn and Murphy could have met in person?

Finn on the Run (video)

Here are two photos taken on October 3, exactly one month after the one at the bottom just below them (the second one below) , so you can see how much Finn has grown in just one month.

Exponential growth like "The Little Shop of Horrors"

Finn is now (on September 13, the second photo below) twice the size and weight that he was just over a month ago (on August 9, in the first photo):

Blondie goes Golden

Finn is turning more golden! Compare these two photos, one on pick-up day back on July 18, and the one below it taken yesterday, September 13.

The homing pigeon

Ready for a walk on September 13. Finn is a homing pigeon. I walk him up our road to the traditional turnaround point. I half-drag him there and then, after I say "Let's go home," he drags me back!

Note how long Finn's legs are in proportion to his body, like the baby elephant beside him. Surely this is a harbinger of future growth.

Young ringtailed Finn wandered in the woods today.

That's quite a pigtail. He looks like a piglet feeding at a trough.

He meets a close friend.

Here he communes with (and asserts his superiority over) Shamie--and then appears to have decapitated him.

I call this film clip "Yo Mama?" Does Finn follow his mother here?

No, that's our friend Linda's 98-pound male labradoodle, Crispin.

Saturday, July 25, 2009

Here's a film clip of Finn in playful combat with Shamie the cat, who is now trying to make sense of a doodle his own size, after a few years of interaction with our late beloved goldendoodle Murphy, who was six times Shamie's size: http://murphy-doodle.blogspot.com/. Yet Shamie could befuddle Murphy more easily than he can young Finn (so far)!

But fear not: Shamie can handle himself fine, especially outside, where he can leap onto a wall out of Finn's reach, and where just this morning (7/26), he jumped out of a bush to attack Finn.

Introducing Finn (Fionn mac Cumhaill) the goldendoodle

On Saturday, 7/18/09, we brought home Finn, born 5/20/09, from Barleycroft Kennels near Dover, Pennsylvania. Here are Finn's parents: six-year-old Penny, his retriever mother; and four-year-old Friday, his poodle father. And below are Lea and Finn at Barleycroft, with breeder Barbara Clardy behind them; and Jim and Finn, about to head home.
